Presidents Bush and Obama

My fellow Observers,

I know that you are probably wondering what does Presidents Barrack Obama and George W. Bush have in common besides the obvious. When it comes to the middle east in places like Iraq, Iran, and Afghanistan, they will forever be intertwined.

It is a well known fact that Saddam Hussein never had any weapons of mass destruction and word has it that George W. Bush invaded Iraq because Mr. Hussein had put a hit out on George W's daddy.

Of course Dick Cheney had to repay the giant and private contractor Halliburton for aiding in his getting to the Whitehouse. Before becoming Vice President of the United States, Mr. Cheney was the Chairman and CEO of the Halliburton Company from 1995-2000.

Furthermore, Halliburton was also the contractor who lost and couldn't locate $ 1 billon dollars of the taxpayers money as part of the $ 1trillion dollars that Bush used to fund the invasion. Killing Saddam Hussein was a scam of epic proportions and maybe the biggest foreign policy mistake of this century.

On many occasions Saddam told every American politician that relieving him of power in Iraq would be the most dangerous action that the United States could ever undertake. Mr. Hussein, the Sunni warrior, ruled with force like every dictator and the Shiites and Kurds knew that he was someone that should be left alone to rule Iraq.

Saddam's ego did get the best of him when he tried to invade Kuwait which turned into "Desert Storm 1" with the United States thwarting his attempt to take that country. But, during the Bush administration, 911 happened which gave President George W. Bush and Vice President Dick Cheney an opportunity to kill two birds with one stone.

Mr. Cheney would get for Halliburton the largest negotiated contract ever for a private defense contractor. Shall we put things in perspective? America's military personnel were making roughly
$ 35,000 dollars per year for their participation in the war in Iraq. Conversely, Halliburton's private military personnel were making $ 100,000 dollars per year. So when America's military personnel's tour of duty was up, they rejoined the war as employees of Halliburton.

Of course, President George W. Bush was after Saddam Hussein in the worst way and they both achieved their goal. What America's politicians refused to accept was that Saddam Hussein, who understood the region better than anyone, especially the religious zealots that are operating at the present time, knew that he had to kill some of his own people to keep the peace.

This is what's happening in Syria today and it also happened in Afghanistan before the American troops arrived to rid this country of Al Qaeda. Now that Saddam Hussein is gone the region has taken a turn for the worse, more  than anyone could ever imagine.

Sidebar: America's desire to control the politics in the middle east is all about capitalistic greed and oil. This is who and what America is. It is America that puts these tyrants in power and it is America that removes them.

Now, in rides the naïve and uninformed President Barrack Obama whose main campaign issue besides "yes we can" was "Let's bring out troops home". The war weary American public ate it up. "We are family", by the Pointer Sisters, and Stevie Wonder's "Signed Sealed and Delivered" were played all over the airwaves. America was on a roll because many cried, "racism is dead", "racism is dead", just because the new President was African American. 

As we all are experiencing grid lock in our government and hate related incidents all across America, the public has grown silent
and President Barrack Obama is wondering what in the hell have I gotten myself into.

By bringing the troops home from Iraq, he opened the region for Al Qaeda to rule, which has now been supplanted by ISIL as the evil empire. To retaliate, President Obama, instead of sending the troops back to Iraq, started the deadliest drone warfare campaign in the history of the world. And to be brutally honest, who knows how many innocent people have died from these drone attacks.

After killing many of the Al Qaeda leaders, another more deadly group arose and they have turned out to be the most cunning and well oiled killing machine that the American government has ever encountered. We know them as ISIL and interestingly enough many of them were members of Saddam Hussein's Sunni army.

President Obama is in a very serious "pickle" because ISIL is cutting a path across the middle east and threatening Europe, America, and the rest of the world. At present, the Shiite army of Iran has boots on the ground to aid the Iraqi soldiers, but the going is rough because America's fighting forces are unparalleled in their fighting prowess and they're not there.. 

Unlike President Bush, President Obama will not have to lie, but he may have to go back on his word of "no more American troops" in the middle east. With its killings and recruitment via social media, ISIL has proven that they are a force of which to be reckoned.

The irony of this entire affair is President Obama and the incoming President will be required to make a very serious decision.  How many more people must die before the United States government makes a decision to eliminate the threat to the world known as ISIL? When America elects a new President, the duet of Bush and Obama will become a trio of lying, uninformed, and bewildered leaders.
