Just another day in Washington

In a recent film, created and directed by Gavin titled "Nerd Prom: Inside Washington's Wildest Week", he uncovers just another sordid reality that is benefiting of the capitalist criminals that run this country. Not only do they make Americans work for third world wages, they pretend to provide assistance, but really don't.

The nonprofit organization "White House Correspondents Association" recently held its big bash called a scholarship dinner and all of the usual players were in attendance. This is the group of "journalist" that supposedly watches and reports honestly about Washington's politicians in the efforts to provide transparency to the American public. To Mad Man, the political definition of transparency is simply, "let's bleep 'em while they're looking right at us"

The lady pictured above, Ms. Julia Whiston, earns $ 141,685.00 a year, as the association's executive director while it spends
$ 131,550 in grants and other program services. The annual dinner supposedly is held to select college journalists.

Of course many of the journalists deny the claim that their organization is even a fundraising entity however, it is listed as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Christi Parsons, a White House correspondent for the Los Angeles Times states "that salary-to-grant ration would be relevant if we were a scholarship fundraising organization, but we are not". We are a group that fights for openness and transparency at the White House. That's what our outstanding executive director is paid to help us do."

Ms. Parsons continues by stating "that most of her colleagues would be very uncomfortable going hat in hand to corporations to raise money because it wouldn't be consistent with the mission of our board or our organization."

In his critique of corporate media, Norm Chomsky surmises that money could be raised without compromising the media more than it already is. But, Mr. Chomsky also adds that if a major corporation gave a huge amount of money to the association, the leaders of that group who are White House correspondents would be aware of the gift which in some cases would have a corrupting affect.

Ken Berger, of "Charity Navigator", the organization that monitors charity organizations states that the status of the nonprofit of the White House Correspondents Association raises numerous red flags.

Unfortunately, Mr, Berger's lament appears to be that of a man  who knows that there's nothing that can be done, just as nothing can be done to stop the rich politicians who these people are supposed to cover from taking the taxpayers money and dividing it among themselves.

America is the most capitalistic country on the face of the earth and by far the most hypocritical, dishonest, and greediest. Most of these types of shady endeavors would probably go unnoticed but when Americans are starving while working three jobs for $ 5.75 per hour, it is hard to accept that these people are making so much money and lying about what they're doing with it.
