Railroaded Again !

The recent crash of the Amtrak train in Philadelphia is just another indication of how little the Republican Party and the Tea Party faction of this insidious group of politicians actually care about the American public.

Due to their ridiculous and calculated efforts to rob taxpayers of their money and benefits, they continue to move forward with their budget busting legislation that now, is costing people their lives. They are taking taxpayer dollars and allocating it to the special interest groups that are promising them wealth after they leave office.

This can be the only answer to the diabolical and very evil methods by which the GOP operates. It ain't about race anymore. The only color that they care about is the green that lines their pockets. It can't be proven but my fellow Observers, please pay attention that every person that enters politics leaves as wealthy individuals. 

The recent crash of the Amtrak train that carries approximately 750,000 people a day with revenue of $ 100 million dollars a year was driven by a 32 year old engineer named Brandon Bostian. At 100 miles per hour, going around a turn, he applied the emergency breaks and the train could not stop because at that speed, it needed to travel the length of 10 football fields to slow down.

This crash is being investigated by the NTSB and what is even more astounding is that so far 8 people have died and on the day after the crash the Republican led Congress refused to pass a bill that would have paid for Amtrak to install PTC devices on the thoroughfare between Washington DC and Boston. Which, by the way, is the most highly travel tracks in the country.

The "PTC" or "Positive Train Controls" would have guaranteed that this crash and other accidents could not have happened. The reason being that these devices combine GPS, wireless radios, and computer technology to monitor trains to stop them from colliding, derailing, and speeding is causing the delay, in addition to available funding.

The Republicans claim that they have been denying money to Amtrak due to accusations of mismanagement and misallocations
of funds. To add insult to these deaths as a result of this crash, a bill has already been passed that requires the government to have the PTC systems installed on all railroad tracks by year end. But Congress, due to budget cuts continue to push the funding for these types of bills back.

The question that Mad Man has for all Americans is this. What is America's politicians doing with our money? Shouldn't they be spending it on products and services that benefit us instead of giving it to corporations that don't need it and who definitely aren't paying their fair share of taxes.

The bill to move ahead and fund the PTC on this highly traveled Amtrak line is coming due again. Let's see if the Republican led Congress really cares as little for the safety of the American public as their previous actions tend to demonstrate.
