Greeting my fellow Observers,
I don't normally start my observational report with a sidebar but this time I feel that it is appropriate.
Sidebar: Republicans and Religious bigots, you realize that America and the world is changing and your stance on white supremacy is vanishing right before your very eyes.
Kim Davis, the Rowan County Kentucky Clerk, who has been jailed for refusing to follow the law as passed by the Supreme Court, to issue marriage licenses to same sex couples, is the epitome of millions of religious hypocrites in the world.
She states that it was "GOD's authority" that made her decline to issues these marriage licenses. This all comes from a woman who has suffered many personal problems and been married four (4) times. Do you think that her misfortune is due to her inability to actually follow GOD's word?
The Republican Presidential candidates have come to Ms. Davis' defense by stating that her stance is just a way of protecting their "Christian values". Of course this is the expected stance of a political party that is fighting the inevitable and hoping that somewhere along the way it will get a break which is never going to come because the people of this country have spoken.
They have spoken on health care, higher wages, and marriage. Ms . Davis is just another example of the religious bigots that exist in this country who are also living in the white dominated past.
Ted Cruz strongly defended Ms. Davis by stating, "today for the first time ever, the government arrested a Christian woman for living according to her faith". By the way Mr. Cruz, if your poll numbers improve and you actually become a serious candidate, I will question your citizenship credentials, just like all of you bigots did to President Obama.
Mad Man's comments are simple. "Ms. Davis, if your religion prevents you from doing your job, get a job where you can be as bigoted as you want to be, like in the Republican party. You and your ilk are a disgrace to any religious person who actually attempts to live by GOD's principles.
At present, Ms. Davis is married to Joe Davis, who describes himself as a "redneck hillbilly" and to really emphasize these people's ignorance is this statement made by Ms. Davis when she discusses how she found religion.
"More than four years ago I embraced Christianity during a church service. There I heard a message of grace and forgiveness and surrendered my life to Jesus Christ."
Mad Man wonders what Jesus Christ of which she was referring.
