Lamar Odom

Greetings My fellow Observers,

What can we say about Lamar Odom, is lying in a hospital in Las Vegas being kept alive on life support? Because of who he is, it is quite easy to discount Lamar as one of the many celebrities to allow their lives to fall into shambles. This man is and has always been troubled, starting with his heroin addicted father.

While growing up on the streets of Queens New York, Lamar, who is 6'10" tall, with the strength of Shaquille O'Neil and the basketball fundamentals of Magic Johnson, realized early that these attributes would take him to the NBA and places beyond. He lost interest in education and all other matters that ordinary citizens must deal with. He was raised by a grandmother who tried her best to keep him on the straight and narrow also realized that Lamar, through basketball would be self contained.

After his first and only year of college play at Rhode Island University, Lamar entered the NBA and became an immediate star while winning two championships with the Los Angeles Lakers. He has led a very intriguing life to say the least that has been filled much triumph and failure. Here are a few highlights and low lights of a rather interesting existence .

1. Born to  heroin addicted father and lost his mother to cancer
2. Raised by a grandmother
3. Attended one year of college in Rhode Island and then turned pro
4. He lost a child to sudden infant death when he was 26
5. His cousin was killed when he was 31
6. After his cousin's funeral he was driving a car and lost control
    and killed a 15 year old boy.
7. He also lost a very close friend to a drug overdose a few months ago
8. To top this off, he married Khloe Kardashian and became a part of the family's reality show where he had periods of disappearance that caused the family to search for him.

To say the least Lamar Odom had demons in his life and whether you want to blame him for all of this misdeeds, they were not all  
his fault. But one cannot help but to suspect that Lamar was at the brothel in Nevada to end his life like many men dream about leaving.

Let's hope that Lamar recovers from this very unfortunate incident so that he can see how much he is loved. Then all that he has to do is accept it.
