A Letter To All Americans

Dear fellow Americans,

The Preamble to the Constitution of the United States of America begins in this manner:

"We hold these truths to be self evident that all men, are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness."

As we watch our politicians continue to sell our country to "Corporate America" while telling their "constituents" that they are doing what's right for them, nothing and I mean nothing is further from the truth. While we claim to be the smartest, and most elite society on earth, our actions belie that premise because what we are allowing to happen to us makes us the dumbest, most ignorant, and clueless people ever assembled in a developed society. And, an even more alarming characteristic that we appear to so easily be displaying is laziness.

We are being blinded and brainwashed by politicians that keep us fighting against each other with enough race baiting and dog whistle rhetoric that makes Mad Man want to puke like he did after eating a huge hamburger, then riding the spinning saucers at Disneyland. What is so disheartening is that we believe them!

Of course, it is hard to fight when you are working three minimum wage jobs to make ends meet because our politicians refuse to make their corporate supporters pay their employees a living wage that will allow them to pursue a happy existence. When people are struggling to keep their heads above water, happiness seems rather elusive and what we all do is put on a "good face" because that appears to be our only hope. If, for one fleeting moment, we do experience happiness, it is soured by the reality that we will eventually have to get back on that treadmill called "desperation".

Aren't these politicians supposed to be working for us? It sure doesn't appear to be that way because if they were, they would not be so determined to continue to push the notion that our Federal Government needs to be dismantled. The only dismantling that should be done is that all of those in office who do not work for the people of the United States of America should be voted out of office.
But due to the brainwashed status of our society, we unfortunately are getting what we don't vote for.

Mad Man's solution to what ails America is as follows and let's allow the economist and not politicians try to explain why this ridiculously simple plan will or will not be inflationary.

1. Pay all working Americans a living wage. This will not only stimulate the economy but it would
    also generate more money for the people's company which is the Federal Government.

2. Next to technology, the next best income producing jobs will be to repair America's decaying
    infrastructure. Again, higher wages and higher tax revenue for the people's company.

3. Create a flat tax system that would allow everyone to pay a percentage of their personal income
    with a higher tax rate for corporations who are using the people of this country to produce the
    goods and services that we use.

4. Strengthen Social Security and Medicare

Now there are certain people in our society who believe that "if they can get theirs, you surely can get yours". Of course, we know that this is as far away from reality as the moon is from earth. It is easy to "get yours" when you are in control of who gets what.

What is so frustrating about the American public is that we haven't gotten it yet. The Federal Government is "Our Company" and the money that we make, the more money it makes and that money can be used for the things that most benefits us. The following are just a few of those things.

Better education and schools for all citizens, not just the wealthy
Obamacare is a good start but it still needs to be tweaked
America's infrastructure is in dire need of repair
Increased aid for America's veterans
Aid for the homeless
Aid for the mentally handicapped

This is what all Americans should be working to provide for themselves and their fellow citizens while keeping in mind that one day you and your children will be needing one of the above-noted services. Our politicians lie to us about taking care of us, but we can take care of ourselves if we were allowed to make a decent living and our company, the Federal Government, did with our money what we would want it to do.

And furthermore, let's stop the lies about the Federal Government being too big. It's our company and we should allow it to grow, while managing it properly to eliminate waste and corruption to service our needs. The people at Wal-Mart brag all of the time about having 1 million employees and they are making billions. Why can't America's company employ as many people as necessary so that we can afford to service our needs because at present, we getting nothing from these politicians but BS.
