Robert Bates, the part time, wanna be, retired policeman who could not give up his profession until he joined the klanish club of killers of Black men. This 73 year old CEO of an insurance company paid his way into the position of "Certified Reserve Deputy" by donating cars and video equipment to local law enforcement.
Let's just cut to the chase. Why in the hell is a 73 year business executive being allowed to play policeman? Bates worked for the Sheriff's office in the 1960's for one year and has been a reserve deputy since 2008. It does not matter that he has had 300 hours of training and 1,100 hours of community policing experience with all of it keeping Mr. Bates on the perimeter of the crime scenes. HE IS "BLEEPING" 73 YEARS OLD!!!!!!!!!!
Sidebar: There are age limits for those who want to be policemen. Some cities have no restrictions on the starting age while other cities state that an applicant cannot apply for the job after his or her 45th birthday for the position of a patrol officer. Almost all police departments in America mandate that the age that a patrolman must retire is 65.
Unfortunately for Mr. Eric Courtney, the victim, this was Mr. Bates first chance, at age 73, to participate in an actual arrest and it needlessly cost him his life. To make this murder even more alarming is that in most precincts 73 year old policemen are usually assigned to desk duty or some other task. Rarely are they ever given the job of chasing down suspected felons.
To make matters worse and to define the thought process associated with this murder of Mr. Courtney, Mr. Bates claims that he was reaching for his yellow Taser when he accidentally pulled his black 9 millimeter revolver and shot the victim while he was being held down by other officers. Again, most 73 year olds have difficulty finding their keys and yet Tulsa's police department allowed this man to carry a gun and represent them.
Again, this plays into the extremely over exaggerated and racist fear of Black men, by white men, who believe that Black men have some superhuman strength that even after being held down or wounded they still can commit mayhem. While Mr. Courtney was being held down, he exclaimed, "I can't breathe" and one of the officers responded "fuck your breathing".
It is obvious that the Sheriff's Department had it out for this guy and his murder by Mr. Bates was a relief because it did what appears all police officers want to do and that is to get another worrisome Black man off the streets. Do not allow him to "pass go", or go to trail, or go back to prison, let's just end this Black Man's life because he's a career criminal and a nuisance.
How much longer and how many more Black men have to die before someone steps up and says what in the hell is going on? This has got to stop and these murderous cops must be brought to justice and the jurisdictions sued for millions of dollars. Sure, Blacks and whites are tip-toeing around this issue with syrupy diplomacy but somebody somewhere needs to be pissed off.
And here we are today, averaging a murder by policemen of a Black man per month and all that everyone is doing is reporting it. Maybe the politicians are correct when they said that "Black people are expendable because they are a commodity that can fill our prisons". Apparently, if the pigs kill a few on the way, that's one less Black man that the taxpayers have to defend or house.
None of the Black men killed this year had to die and who knows how many have died without any retribution, but it is quite obvious to Mad Man that if any of these men where white, they'd still be alive and Mad Man dares anyone to refute this fact.
