Where are the hypocrites?

When President Barrack Obama was elected and throughout his 6 1/2 years in office, his legitimacy as an American citizen has been questioned by the "Birther Bigots"  in this country. The question  by Donald Trump, Rush Limbaugh, et al, have been, "where was President Obama born"? "Was he born in Hawaii as his birth certificate states or was he born in some African hut in Nigeria?"

This President has been constantly accused of not being born in the country of which he runs. While many Americans who claim that the United States has made so much racial progress are some of the same people who question President Obama's citizenship. Secretly, behind closed doors, the real issue is that unless you are born white in America, your birth is automatically questioned.

Jews were ostracized by Christians because they didn't believe in Jesus however, if they allowed themselves to be baptized and became Christians, they would be accepted in the society that the white people built on the backs of Black slaves that were taken from their homeland. This "Birther Bigotry" stuff has happened all over the world as early as the 15th century when a Converso priest was appointed to a high profile position at the cathedral in Toledo, Spain. The archbishop, who suspected that the newly elected priest had Jewish origins vetoed the appointment on the grounds that the gentleman had "impure blood".

Marco Rubio was born in Miami Florida and is the son of Cuban immigrants. Ted Cruz was born in Canada and both of these men have announced that they are running for President of the United States. While Mr. Rubio is a natural born citizen of the United States Mr. Cruz is taking a rather circuitous route to the office.

Presidential Candidate Cruz, whose mother was born in the United States, but was working in Canada when he was born, is now stating that he had no problems with President Obama's right to be President because even if he was not born in the United States his mother was, which made him an American citizen.

Sidebar: Article II, Section 1 of the United States Constitution states that "no person except a natural born citizen, or a citizen of the United States, at the time of the adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the office of the President, neither shall any person be eligible to that office who shall not have attained to the age of 35 years, and been fourteen years a resident within the United States.

As the 2016 Presidential election begins to take shape and starts to gain steam, it will be interesting to see what type of racist rhetoric will be thrown Mr. Cruz's way by the "Birther Bigots". I don't think that there will be much because he is a member of the same political party.

It will be quite entertaining if the Democrats come forward with the same asinine accusations about Ted Cruz as the Republicans continue over the birthplace of President Obama which has kept him on the defensive for 6 1/2 years. President Obama however, has found a way to squash the birther conversations because he is shocking the very hypocritical and racist right wingers in our government.

He is negotiating with Iran and Cuba, while trying to gain some relief for the millions of immigrants that are already in this country working as gardeners and servants for the very people who deny them their rights.

As the 2016 Presidential election campaigns begin and Hillary Clinton and Rand Paul have thrown their hats into the ring, every American should do as the Roman's did right before the gladiators fought and that is to grab a bottle of wine and some food and scream as loud as you can, "let the games begin!"
