Rachel Dolezal

While Mad Man was away observing family business and the celebration of his aunt's leaving earth, it appears that the American media has continued with it's silliness about race in this country. Now everyone is all pushed out of shape because Rachel Dolezal, a white woman, has been found to be masquerading as a Black woman for years.

The media is overly reporting this story because they need sensational news. Furthermore, as Americans we have been inundated with trash reporting as a result of the National Enquirer and TMZ. Don't you know that there is a reason that the local newspapers can't remain solvent while smut news agencies are thriving.? Mad Man calls this phenomenon "subtle brainwashing".

White people are very confused by Rachel's wanting to be Black because as they see it, what white person, with all of their privileges, would want to be a part of a race that is being subjected to all kinds of racist and economically crippling legislation as well as being denied the right to vote, overly imprisoned, and killed with impunity.

Black people are pissed off because Ms. Dolezal had the nerve to lead the local NAACP as part of her life's work as a Black woman. Whew, and the wrath of Black woman are cascading down on this poor and confused woman like hurricane Katrina. Lighten up people! If Bruce Jenner can become Caitlyn, surely this young woman can become a Black woman.

Mad Man observes that all of this is a lot to do about nothing. Based on Ms. Dolezal's work with the NAACP in Spokane Washington, it appears that she was getting some things done and there really are no race requirements for membership for this historically Black civil rights organization. So what's the beef?

Black people have been pretending to be white people ever since the days of slavery and even today there are still some pretenders out there and the reason is quite simply economics. We talk about it, we live it, and we observe it everyday. Being white in America allows privileges that cannot be matched anywhere else on earth.

Black people have ongoing discussions about down and out white people in America and in summary it is this. "If you are poor and white in America, you have got to be the laziest and most trifling person in the world because the United States government is geared to give you anything that you want."

The media will make Rachel Dolezal a wealthy woman because she has already started doing interviews and next there will be a book, especially when it is determined what her parents did to her to make her "want to go Black". Who knows, the way that this lady is playing her game, Mad Man sees a movie in the not to distant future now that it appears that her mother and father might be the save the world religious zealot types.

Whatever happens in this ridiculous tale of nothingness, Mad Man has observed one very significant development and outcome. Rachel Dolezal, please stay Black because you are a much more attractive Black woman than when you were white. How much attention did you get when you were a white woman except when you were suing Howard University for discrimination.

Ms. Dolezal, there ain't nothing wrong with being Black because the race is real cool even with the many obstacles that we face everyday of our lives. But, there is something in us that every other race wants and have tried to emulate it and/or take it from us but have failed miserably and that my very confused, but well meaning young lady is called SOUL.

When you acquire the swagger, the resilience, the pride that comes with being down and out in America, that comes with having  SOUL, then you really will be Black!
