Texas, Texas, Texas

Can someone please explain to me what is wrong with the State of Texas and the lawmakers who run this very backwards and un-American warped universe. Governor Rick Perry, with his very over inflated ego, embarrassed himself out of the race for president. The politicians and those in charge of managing this small country might as well be in a miniature, dysfunctional village in a science fiction movie.

Texas and its politicians are trying their best to undermine everything that is right about America. Their latest episode to roll back civil rights law was thwarted by the Supreme Court when it ruled 5-4 that racial discrimination in housing shouldn't be limited by questions of intent. This ruling was called the "Disparate Impact" decision.

The state of Texas blatantly contributed to the creation of segregated housing in the state by allocating too many tax credits to housing in predominately black urban areas and too few in predominately white suburban neighborhoods.

This latest set back came after it was reported that Texas is now engaged in a feud with publishers that would prevent those publishers from printing the truth about what happened in America regarding race relations and the civil war. These very unscrupulous people want to eliminate the truth from American history!

And of course Texas is the leader of states that have closed almost all of its women's health clinics which everyone on the right side of the political spectrum calls abortion clinics. Let's not forget the fact that these clinics provide much more than abortions to impoverished women.

Sidebar: Abortion is a hot topic in American politics and Mad Man's view is really quite simple. An abortion is an exceptionally traumatic experience for any woman and many of us would not like for them to happen however, this is not our choice. This choice is solely on the shoulders of the woman who has elected to have this procedure. It's her right and nobody else's.

Furthermore, it is quite hypocritical for Republican politicians to be so anti-abortion when they vote to do nothing for these usually less than privileged children after they are born.

Whether, it's housing, education, or the rights of women and minorities, Texas is making a serious effort to secede from the union and in the minds of many, the federal government should allow this very backwards state with its racist politicians to go. But there are many people in Texas that are being punished by its politicians and it would be unconscionable to allow this to happen.

Mad Man has not even discussed his observations regarding voter rights and immigration in this state because these two very hotly contested topics are being discussed nationwide but Texas politicians are deeply rooted in every aspect of every developing law that is associated with what's BAD about America.

Mad Man was of the opinion that maybe when all of the racist bigots die, America might become truly the land of the free and the home of the brave, but alas, in Texas and to be honest, other states, they are teaching bigotry to their young. So, my fellow Observers, the only way to remedy some of the awful laws that these extremely unethical lawmakers are trying to pass, is to just vote them out of office.

Unfortunately, this requires the help of white people and at present, they are not quite ready to act.
