Greetings my fellow observers,
It appears that the pharmaceutical industry has struck again with yet, another drug that will be sold to solve a human condition while providing no cure, but serious and debilitating side effects.
The drug, as manufactured by "Sprout" and called "flibanserin" or more commonly known as "Pink Viagra" has been approved by the FDA to allow women to be more sexually responsive and active. The women will be required to take this drug everyday while it produces such serious side effects that the FDA is requiring special training and certification before providers can prescribe it.
There is great debate and objection to the approval of this drug by women who claim that they are being forced to believe that unless their sexual libido is not super active, they're not functioning properly. Sex therapist Christine Hyde teachers her clients that they don't need pills to experience responsive or spontaneous desire that provides them with pleasure.
Simply put, and after much discussion, Sprout, the manufacturer of the "Pink Viagra" has created a pill that, as one woman in the clinical trail stated, made her feel that she was too wound up to enjoy the experience. What she was really trying to say was that "Pink Viagra" eliminated her desire to want foreplay and "it made her feel broken."
The FDA analysis of the data showed that only 10% of the women in the study that took flibanserin experienced at least minimal improvement, while 90% experienced no improvement at all.
The side effects of this drug are alarming and include drowsiness, low blood pressure, fainting, nausea, and dizziness. One woman in the trial fainted and received a concussion from her fall. There are also extremely adverse side effects when taking this drug with alcohol. As a matter of fact, the only test done that involved Pink Viagra and alcohol was conducted with 25 participants and of the 25 people involved 23 were men.
With the positive results of taking this pill being so very low and the side effects so dangerously high, Mad Man knows why this drug was approved $$$$$$, but again, the pharmaceutical industry
and their lobbyist have convinced the FDA that the money to be made and the tax revenue from the sale of this drug will make everybody happy.
