Planned Parenthood

My fellow Observers,

Have you ever made a positive decision about a subject that you barely knew anything about but as far as you were concerned, it just appeared to be the right thing to do? Even if this decision went against some of your beliefs, you accepted it for its value to a group of Americans because they had nowhere else to go.

Mad Man is talking about Planned Parenthood, the non-profit organization that offers a multitude of services to the less fortunate women of our society. Their services include, but are not limited to the providing of the morning after pill, birth control pills and counseling, abortions, and treatment for STDS.  

The real issue involves the latest video release of a Planned Parenthood Director of Research,  Melissa Farrell, admitting on video, that Planned Parenthood sold aborted baby parts to research laboratories.

Mad Man's positions are real simple:

1. No one wants to see a woman go through an abortion but if she must, why can't Planned Parenthood sell the remains for research, especially since stem cell research is beginning to show many opportunities for success in the curing of many human ailments?

Sidebar: Isn't it quite interesting that the very hypocritical right-winged and religious crowd who don't want to give women their right to choose to abort a child continues to reduce the care and nurturing of these same children after they are born.

2. The overall care of women who have no access to health care is critical to the well being of this country. Planned Parenthood provides this service and the politicians in this country want to eliminate this program.

3. Your politicians are suggesting that those who use Planned Parenthood have access to other government financed services and want to cancel Planned Parenthood's funding. Don't be fooled. They also have plans to cancel funding for those same programs that will replace Planned Parenthood.

4. Stem cells, which can be taken from the blood of the umbilical cord after an abortion and normal delivery provides the least risk and can be banked and used in surgeries like bone marrow transplantation and the treatment of other cancers. This medical breakthrough has been phenomenal in the advancement of human life and the well being of all Americans.

In realty and it is a harsh reality, your politicians will back off of this crusade to close Planned Parenthood as soon as it is taken off the federal government's payroll which is the basis for their real purpose. They are being lobbied by private industry and research firms to allow them to provide abortions and harvest these vital organs so that they can offer these vital services and stem cells for a profit. In other words, why pay Planned Parenthood for these organs when you can harvest them yourself?

I wonder what the hospitals do with their stem cells after they bring babies into the world. Do they throw them away or do they, like Planned Parenthood, sell them.

Abortions are a way of life in America and Planned Parenthood should remain supported by the federal government, if for no other reason than to keep women who seek abortions from resorting to very dangerous and clandestine measures. Furthermore, if those hypocritical pigs on the far right would seriously fund adoption and foster care agencies, as well as provide education for these unwanted children, the quest to ban abortions in America would be legitimate. Until then, they should shut the hell up and leave Planned Parenthood alone.
